Also known as Small leaved elm, Cork elm and Wahoo.Winged Elm is an excellent host plant for the question mark butterfly. The leaves are alternate, simple, two ranked, oval in shape, around 6", margins doubly serrate, bases, asymmetrical, blades unequal on either side of the central vein, apices acuminate. Flowers: small, clustered in long, drooping catkins. Fruit: a flattened samara about 1/2" long.
