Description: This species is 2"-10" tall with opposite, sessile, coarsely hairy leaves. The oblong elliptic leaves are 1/2" -1 " long and 3/8"-3/4" wide.
The axillary, 5 lobed flowers measure 5/8"-3/4" long and 3/8"-1/2" wide, often in pairs in the leaf axils.
Bloom Season: March-October
Habitat/Range: Flatwoods and Sandhills along the Central Plain from South Carolina, south in Florida to Collier County.
