Description: The pungent, compound leaves of this species reach about 6" long, with linear-oblong leaflets 3/8"-3/4" long. Spikes of yellow- anthered, dark purple flowers appear at the branch tips, each spike measuring up to 6" long.
Bloom Season: February- August
Habitat/ Range: Forest margins and stream banks of eastern Canada and the continental United States, south to northern Mexico and throughout mainland Florida.
