Called Asimina Triloba also known as: Dog Banana or Indian Banana, Pawpaw Triloba is one of the most common tree that Zebra Swallowtail will use as a host plant. Leaves are Alternate, simple, entire, around 6 " long, widest at the tip then tapering to a narrowed base, apices mostly acuminate. Flowers are Maroon, with a fetid aroma, 2" wide when opened, their stalks 1/2" long or more. Fruit is oblong, around 6" long, greenish yellow. This host plant for the Zebra swallowtail butterfly is found more in a woodlands area.
